Total RNA was extracted using RNAplant Plus Reagent according to manufacturers’ instructions (Tiangen, Beijing, China). Before library construction, we evaluated the degradation of the RNA on a 1% agarose gel, and checked purity using the Qubit® 3.3 Fluroer (Life Technologies, CA, USA), with integrity and concentration assessed using an RNA Nano 6000 Assay Kit on the Bioanalyzer 2100 system (Agilent Technologies, CA, USA). Sequencing libraries were generated using NEBNext® Ultra™ RNA Library Prep Kit for Illumina® (#E7530L, NEB, USA) following the manufacturer’s recommendations and then sequenced on the Illumina HiSeq X Ten platform to generate 150 bp paired-end reads.??
